BlogPost: Week 7

Hello Everyone,

It's been an interesting couple of weeks. My thesis work had taken a little bit of a pause, while I dealt with other mid-semester papers and exams. I was still working on it, but it was a little weird not having it be my primary focus. I'm excited to start working on everything again. I've started creating my poster and hope to have a finished rough draft in the next couple of days, it's been hard deciding what information to put on and what information to leave out. Also update on my digital project, I finally decided on a layout and everything is coming together pretty smoothly, although there's always going to be some kind of quirk. I am happing with the direction my paper is taking, I feel like I finally have all my thoughts in order and I am eager to get my next set of edits back from my advisors!

Wow, it's done, hurrah...

Requisite "Wow, it's done, hurrah" aside, the only remaining part of the thesis process to talk about briefly is yesterday's poster session, which I thought went rather well. It was a good experience to get to talk about and share my work with those outside of my immediate thesis cohort (research methods and thesis professors, advisors, and my peers in the class), and to receive their reactions and questions, which I hope I was able to answer to their satisfaction. There was also something very satisfying about seeing my finished poster (and those of my classmates, which I know they worked so hard on) printed and pinned to a wall, as if seeing it in hardcopy made the end of this process somehow more real than the email that confirmed my thesis has been approved. 

To everyone who helped me with this thesis journey, I would like to thank you.  Your efforts helped me more than you can ever know and were immensely appreciated. I wish all of you and the rest of my thesis class the best in your future endeavors. 

The Home Stretch

My first full draft has been submitted and I am turning my attention to my poster now. I still have some work that needs to be done for my paper, such as finalizing the pictures I want to use, and adding in some small sections here and there, but for the most part, all of the content is there. I am looking forward to getting the feedback from my advisers so I can really fine tune it. My poster draft is coming along, I have a much  better idea of the content I want to include and how I want to lay it out. I have not added added the content to my template, but I am confident in what the final product will be. I am looking forward to getting feedback from the Museum Studies faculty and alumni at our presentation next week.
